A study was carried out to test the usefulness of surface geochemical methods as regional evaluation tools in petroliferous region of the Mehsana block, North Cambay Basin. A suite of 135 soil samples collected from the depth of 2.5 m, were analyzed for adsorbed light gaseous hydrocarbons and carbon isotopes (δ13Cmethane and δ13Cethane). The light gaseous hydrocarbon analysis show that the concentration ranges 402 ppb, 135 ppb, 70 ppb, 9 ppb and 18 ppb of C1, C2, C3, iC4 and nC4, respectively. The value of carbon isotopic ranges of methane -29.5 to -43.0‰ (PDB) and ethane -19.1 to -20.9‰ (PDB). This data, when mapped, indicates patterns coinciding with major known oil and/or gas field of Sobhasan/Linch in this study area. The existence of un-altered petroliferous microseeps of catagenetic origin is observed in the study area. A regional study, such as the one described here, can provide important exploration facts concerning the regional hydrocarbon potential in a block. This method has been confirmed and can be applied successfully in frontier basins. Keywords

VANET is an application of mobile ad hoc network. More precisely a VANET is self-organized network that can be formed by connecting vehicle aiming to improve driving safety and traffic management with internet access by drivers and programmers. we first divide the precinct into several domains, in which roadside units (RSUs) are responsible for distributing group private keys and managing vehicles in a localized manner. Each node in VANET is equipped with two types of unit i.e. On Board Unit (OBU) and Application Unit (AU). OBU has the communicational capability whereas AU executes the program making OBU‘s communicational capabilities. An RSU can be attached to the infrastructure network which is connected to the Internet. To establish a VANET, IEEE has defined the standard 802.11p or 802.16 (WiMax). A Dedicated Short Range Communication (DSRC) is proposed which is operating on 5.9GHz band and uses 802.11 access methods. It is standardized as 802.11p which provides short range communication with low latency. The ultimate goal of all works toward VANET is to provide road safety information among the nodes hence the frequent exchange of such type of data on the network clearly signifies the role of the security. A Vehicular Ad-Hoc Network, or VANET, is a form of mobile ad-hoc network, to provide communications among nearby vehicles and between vehicles and nearest fixed equipment, usually described as roadside equipment. The security and performance analysis show that our scheme is more efficient in terms of authentication speed, while keeping conditional privacy in VANETs.

This paper proposes to show vulnerabilities in the Linux servers and service running on Red Hat Linux. The default configuration on Linux server is more vulnerability in the services running on Red Hat, not to the knowledge of system administrator. By pen testing in kali Linux the result shows that there will be many ports open. In Linux Red hat servers each services has its own vulnerability. This paper focuses on FTP service vulnerability, where payload is created for ftp service in Kali Linux and Red Hat server is compromised, by gaining the ischolar_main credential of the particular Red Hat server. Here in Red Hat server lot of changes can be done in ischolar_main file system and to any normal users, files and system information can be altered. By enhancing the security policies patches are made and the FTP server and the services is made normally available for users running.

Mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs) are a set of mobile nodes which are self-configuring and connected by wireless links routinely used to evaluate and manage trust relationships between network nodes and enhance network security. Due to the lack of a central power, securitizing the routing process becomes a difficult task however trust management frameworks themselves are vulnerable to attacks in which results in performance degradation. The study is to present secure of ad hoc networks from various types of routing attacks and improved by various measures to handle different types of malicious behavior that can be enforced to overcome it.

Background/Objectives: It is highly important to analyze on the challenges that influence the acoustic medium. The underwater signals are affected by variety of background noise (ambient noise) in the ocean which is both natural and man-made. Method/Statistical Analysis: The methodology involved in this research work is wavelet decomposition technique to reduce the underwater noise present in the acoustic signal to extract the details present in it. Findings: In this research work, a detailed knowledge on the ambient noise which was collected from the shallow water region of Bay of Bengal, was obtained by characterizing it and a suitable denoising algorithm was formulated using wavelet technique, in particular Gabor wavelet and improvement in SNR is verified using MAT lab simulink tool. Applications/Improvements: The applications of underwater acoustics includes exploration of the environment, monitoring and tracking the marine mammals, exploration of oil in the deep ocean, monitoring the submarines and underwater autonomous vehicles etc,. A comparison was done between Gabor wavelet and Symlet wavelet in denoising the noisy acoustic signal to improve the signal to noise ratio. It enhances the performance of Gabor wavelet. From the result, we can understand that, for an input SNR range of -15 db to 0 db, we obtained an output SNR in the order of 9dB, 15db and 14db at 20 KHz, 66 KHz and 86 KHZ respectively which enhances the performance of Gabor wavelet. Keywords

Alkaline-earth oxides (AeO; Ae = Mg, Ca and Sr) doped with group VII (F, Cl, Br and I) elements as promising spin-injector materials have been investigated by using first principles full-potential linearized augmented plane-wave method. The substitution of group VII elements turns the insulator host AeO into ferromagnetic and some of them exhibit half-metallic ferromagnetic property with an integer magnetic moment of 3.00 μB/cell. The spin-resolved electronic band structure and density of states show that the Ae0.875M0.125O compounds exhibit spin-dependent transport properties, in which the conduction proceeds entirely via the minority spin state in F-doped AeO and through majority spin state in Cl, Br and I-doped CaO and SrO. The comparison of local spin density approximation and generalized gradient approximation is also carried out. The results show that the origin of ferromagnetism in Ae0.875M0.125O is attributed to the p-p hybridization interaction betwwn group VII elements and oxygen. Keywords

In the 1980s, the city of Bangalore was shaken from a slumberous existence into a startled realization of its new-found destiny as a metropolis and the ‘city of the future’. In the five decades since Independence, this small and unremarkable town metamorphosed into an internationally known boom town, overtook Mysore as the urbs prima of the Karnataka region, and outdistanced its neighbours in Chennai and Hyderabad. No other contemporary Indian city allows us to track the passage from small town to metropolitan status within a few decades as well as does Bangalore (Nair J., 2005).References
